Salutation, Soldiers!
We are aware of the long-standing confusion regarding “permanent” weapons and item durations, and we would like to clarify how this works in War Rock.
War Rock does not have a TRUE permanent-duration system flag. Items can only be configured with a duration, and “permanent” items have historically been represented by an extremely long duration (for example, 3000+ days).
We have fixed this issue through our update on Feb 11th 2026. All of you should have your permanent weapons back to having no timer on them.
In addition, the in-game UI does not display the duration once an item is set to 1825 days or more. Because of this, many “permanent” weapons appear to have no expiry, even though they still have a duration in the background. This mismatch has caused understandable confusion over the years.
We also want to acknowledge that we have sold, and will continue to sell, items marketed as “permanent.” In the past, some of these items may have later shown a visible remaining duration due to how the system and UI work.
To prevent further misunderstanding and to match the intended “permanent” presentation, we will ensure that items sold and intended as “permanent” are consistently maintained by periodically extending their duration. This keeps the duration from appearing in the UI and avoids the false impression that the item is limited.
We sincerely apologize for not explaining this sooner and for the confusion this has caused for many years. Thank you for your patience and continued support.
If you are one of the few players that have not got their permanent weapons fixed, please send us a new ticket so we can investigate it further.
Best regards,
Team Papaya Play
